Samson’s story is dramatic, exiting, and colorful.

At the BCHM, we decided to bring his story back to life in Hailey’s 2024 July 4th Parade .

  • The Idea

It all started with the passion we have for telling the history of this valley. A circus elephant running through Hailey in 1884?! The story of Samson stirred everyone’s creativity, and after much hard work, Samson’s run down the streets of Hailey was reenacted to the delight of the community.

  • The Float

The people of this community truly stepped up when it came to making this parade the impact that it was. Many members of the museum board put their time towards creating this prize-winning float, but the true prize was seeing this circus and community come to life. The BCHM teamed up with Hailey Rotary, and many business owners and individuals to create something special and memorable.

  • The Impact

This Samson circus float wasn’t successful because the initial idea, it was the community coming together to make something extraordinary. Events like this show us how truly special our little community is, and how passionate, fun-loving and hard-working its people are.
